python-distro-info software package provides information about distributions releases (Python module), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-distro-info
python-distro-info is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-distro-info package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-distro-info *
You will get with python-distro-info package name, version, architecture and description in a table
